Vita Velo Hidra

Vita Velo – opplevelser på sykkel is an exciting project from Agder County Council, with a focus on combining architecture, culture and the simple joy of cycling.

Unlike the national cycle routes that take cyclists between cities and towns, the Vita Velo routes are designed to experience what is found around the cities – nature, history and architecture in a more local and exploratory way.

A new cycling route has now been created on Hidra that takes you on a journey through the island's history. The route gives you the opportunity to discover Hidra's rich fishing history, ancient transportation history and the sailing ship era. You will cycle through beautiful landscapes and along our two idyllic harbors, while also being able to stop for a break at beautiful picnic areas and enjoy fantastic views.

Hidra is simply a perfect place to experience from the saddle of a bicycle, with its unique natural gems and historical treasures along the road and trail.
